It was indeed a joyful event as the priests and parishioners of St. Martin de Porres Parish, Inyaba Umudim Nnewi welcomes the His Lordship, Most. Rev. Hilary Paul Odili Okeke as he paid his maiden Pastoral Visit on Sunday 5th of July, 2021.
The event began with a pontifical high mass preceded by the Bishop. He also gave his sermon which centred on Faith as a Catholic. He acknowledged the faithful to always have faith in God and resist from all sins. He also confirmed the worthy candidates in the mass.
The Parish Vicar, Rev. Fr. DominicMary Okezue on behalf of the parish priest, welcomed the Bishop to the parish and parys for Good Health .
In same vein, the Secretary parish Council, Ide Uzoegbu presented the welcome address to Nna Ora and highlighted his recommendable achievements so far as the chief Shepard of Nnewi Diocese.
The Bishop in response, thanked the Parish Priest, Very. Rev. Fr. Christopher Ezeimo, his Associate, Fr. DominicMary Okezue and Resident Priest, Rev. Fr. Ferdinand Ume-Ezeoke for their wonderful work in the parish. He also thanked the Parishioners especially Mr. Jude Agwuike who is singlehandly building St. Anthony’s Outstation Akabor Umudim and also all parishioners who in one way contributed for the success of his Visit.
At end of the mass, a well reception was organised in which pious societies, organisation, families and individual presented their gifts to the Bishop. Refreshment and cultural dance were high point of that event.
