Catholic Prayers after fasting

Heavenly Father, we thank you for the blessings of this day and for the grace that sustained us during our time of fasting. As we break our fast, we ask that you bless this food and nourish our bodies.

We also pray for the grace to use our physical hunger as a reminder of our spiritual hunger for you. Help us to hunger and thirst for righteousness, and to seek first your kingdom and your righteousness.

We offer this meal to you, Lord, as a sign of our gratitude and as an expression of our desire to serve you. May the love that we share at this table be a reflection of your love for us, and may it strengthen us for the work of your kingdom.

Bless us, O Lord, and these thy gifts, which we are about to receive from thy bounty, through Christ our Lord. Amen.

  1. Prayer for Cleansing

Heavenly Father, we ask that you cleanse us of all impurities and forgive us for any sins we may have committed during our time of fasting. Help us to turn away from our sinful ways and to walk in your truth and righteousness.

  1. Prayer for Renewal

Lord Jesus, we ask that you renew our minds and hearts as we come to the end of our fast. Fill us with your Holy Spirit and help us to live according to your will, that we may be faithful witnesses to your love and mercy in the world.

  1. Prayer for Strength

Dear God, we ask that you give us the strength we need to continue on our journey of faith. Help us to remain steadfast in our commitment to you, and to persevere in times of trial and temptation.

  1. Prayer for Spiritual Nourishment

Heavenly Father, we pray that the spiritual nourishment we received during our fast will continue to sustain us in the days ahead. May we always hunger and thirst for you, and may our lives be a reflection of your grace and love. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
